Installation Tutorials

Before you begin, here is a quick chart to help you choose the right mounting/installation method:

Mounting Methods

How will I mount/install my sign?

Each of our signs comes complete with the hardware you need for fool-proof mounting - the process is as easy as 1-2-3. You’ll be able to see your amazing creation come to life in no time.

Double-sided Mounting Tape

Step 1: Place the cardboard stencil on the wall and use a tape measure and level to determine the location on the wall where the sign will be located - use painters tape to adhere the stencil to the wall. TIP: Always place the sign at least 12” away from the ceiling, corners, etc - ideally the sign should be centred on the wall or centred around an anchoring object (eg. reception desk).

Step 2: One by one, peel the backing from the double-sided tape on the back of the logo/letters and place into the appropriate space in the stencil - press down firmly to the wall. TIP: Try to avoid removing the protective film on the front of the logo/letters at this stage.

Step 3: Once all logos/letters are adhered within the stencil, peel off the protective film from the front of the logo/letters. TIP: Avoid touching the logo/letters once the film is removed to avoid fingerprints.

Step 4: Carefully remove the cardboard stencil from the wall.

Stainless Steel Standoffs

Step 1: Use a tape measure and level to determine the location on the wall where the sign will be located - mark the area with a pencil or painter’s tape. TIP: Always place the sign at least 12” away from the ceiling, corners, etc - ideally the sign should be centred on the wall or centred around an anchoring object (eg. reception desk).

Step 2: Ensure the sign is level (using a level) and place the sign on the wall where you would like it to be positioned based on STEP 1. Using a pencil, mark the centre of each of the holes, this is where you will drill the holes for the standoffs.

Step 3: Select the correct size drill bit and drill four holes, exactly where the marks were made in STEP 2. Insert drywall plugs into the four drilled holes (if adhering to drywall). Screw the base of the standoffs into the four drywall plugs. TIP: Screw the standoffs in until they are well fastened but not too tight.

Step 4: Place the sign over the stand-offs and screw the top of the stand-off into the base of the stand-off (with the sign in between). Remove any protective lm from the front of the sign.

Plastic Standoffs

Step 1: Use a tape measure and level to determine the location on the wall where the sign will be located - mark the area with a pencil or painter’s tape. TIP: Always place the sign at least 12” away from the ceiling, corners, etc - ideally the sign should be centred on the wall or centred around an anchoring object (eg. reception desk).

Step 2: Colour the tips of the standoffs that are attached to the sign with a pencil or dry-erase marker. TIP: Colouring the tips of the standoffs will help you know where to drill the holes for installation. Ensure the sign is level (using a level) and press the sign into the wall where you would like it to be positioned based on Step 1.

Step 3: Select the correct size drill bit and drill four holes, exactly where the marks were made in Step 2. Insert drywall plugs into the four drilled holes. Screw the loose ends of the standoffs into the four drywall plugs. TIP: Screw the standoffs in until they are well fastened but not too tight in order to avoid cracking the standoffs.

Step 4: Remove any protective film from the front and back of the sign. Insert the standoffs attached to the sign into the standoffs screwed into the wall. Press and snap into place.

Pad/Stud Standoffs

Step 1: Use a tape measure and level to determine the location on the wall where the sign will be located - mark the area with a pencil or painter’s tape.
TIP: Always place the sign at least 12” away from the ceiling, corners, etc - ideally the sign should be centred on the wall or centred around an anchoring object (eg. reception desk).

Step 2: Colour the tips of the studs with a pencil or dry-erase marker (if the studs/pads are not already adhered to the sign, do this first using glue or construction adhesive). TIP: Colouring the tips of the studs will help you know where to drill the holes for installation. Ensure the sign is level (using a level) and press the sign into the wall where you would like it to be positioned based on Step 1.

Step 3: Select the drill bit that is the same size as the studs (3/16”, or one size smaller if installing on drywall) and drill four holes, exactly where the marks were made in STEP 2.

Step 4: Coat the ends of the studs with construction adhesive or an appropriate glue/bonding agent. Insert the studs into the drilled holes and let dry. Remove any protective film from the front of the sign. TIP: If using a bonding agent that does not set immediately, you may want to tape the sign into place while it dries/cures for 24 hours.
